Wild boar hunter Al Carstensen
(Vinton, IA - e-mail: al@printexpressia.com) bagged a wild hog
with a handgun during a morning of wild boar hunting with Ron's
Guide Service on December 18, 2006. Al hunted on private land
in Glades county.

Attached is a pic of my successful boar hunt on December 18, 2006.
What a GREAT time! Outstanding guide, well-maintained swamp-buggy
and VERY good dogs!
This was my first hog hunt and first time hunting anything - besides
USPSA and IDPA cardboard targets - with my Kimber Eclipse 1911
in 45ACP. Told the guide I was just looking for a "meat pig"
for the freezer and that's exactly what he got for me - a 155
pound boar.
Made the shot below the left shoulder with a Black Hills 230gr
JHP at 17 yards; that was enough to put him down.
Overall a GREAT hunt - Good time at a fair price! Count me in
again for a hunt next December!
