Killing a wild hog with a spear is not as easy as one may think. Balance, careful footing, fast reflexes and the ability to forcibly plunge the spear into an attacking animal are the key elements needed for a successful kill with a spear.

Dear Ron,

Thanks for a terrific hunt! My guides, Dick and Don, were thoroughly helpful and professional, and those dogs were outstanding. I took a 172 lb. boar with a spear. He fought like Hell, even after I'd cut through his spine at the neck. I had to pull the spear out, dodge around to his left and thrust the spear forward behind his left shoulder blade. After that, he went right down (after spattering blood to about 4 feet away). I had a great time and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you without reservation to anyone interested spear hunting wild boar.
