guarantees that you are going home with the pork.

Our hog hunting is conducted with dogs on private land around
Lake Okeechobee
in
Glades County Florida.
We
can also hog hunt with a guaranteed kill without using dogs by spot and stalking
a hog from a swamp buggy.

THE HUNTERS RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY US BY E-MAIL THAT THEY WISH TO HUNT WITHOUT DOGS PRIOR

There are no
additional charges
if a hunter bags a trophy wild boar or a large sized hog over
a fixed size weight range while hog hunting with Ron's Guide

Neither can I find a reason why a hunter should be penalized
with an additional charge several hundred dollars for bagging
a trophy wild boar or large sized hog.

Our
non-hunter rate permits
a friend or youngster to tag along to watch, video tape and participate
in the excitement of the hunt.
GUARANTEED
KILL CHARGE NO PAY POLICY
Each hunter
is "guaranteed" a kill of "one" wild hog of
either sex
(sow, boar or trophy
wild boar),
during a day of hog
hunting.
A
hunter
has no choice as to not killing the first hog bayed up by the
dogs, spotted or stalked.
The only exception to this policy are very small hogs (that are
under the State of Florida 15 inch shoulder height) spotted, stalked
or held at bay by the dogs will be set free. A hunter's guaranteed
kill charge of $100.00 - which is paid upon arrival in cash -
"will be refunded" in the event we were not able or
the dogs were unable to provide a hunter with an opportunity to
kill a hog during a day of hunting. Our refund policy is not applicable
due to poor shots. An attempt by your guide however will be made
to try and catch a hog that was shot at and missed or that was
shot and wounded by a hunter.
PLEASE
NOTE: our refund policy
is not applicable in the event a hunter or anyone in his party
can not complete for whatever reasons or circumstances the hog
hunting day of whatever hours it takes until a "guaranteed
kill" quota is reached.

ADDITIONAL
KILL RATE
QUESTION:
what
is the cost if I want to kill another hog?
ANSWER: a
hunter who has reached his quota kill for the day can "only"
if we have the time and do not have other hunters waiting to go
out hunting kill an additional hog at the same rate of $245.00.
An additional kill is the same amount of guide hunting time, guaranteed
kill charge, tips and free cleaning and quartering that we would
get from another hog hunter.
If
a hunter is interested in killing additional hogs it would be
wise to book your hunt for the amount of hogs you want to kill.
This way we can schedule your hunt so that it doesn't interfere
with our other scheduled activates and other hunters waiting to
go out hunting.

A e-mail confirmation
upon receipt of a party's reservation deposit will be sent from
Ron's Guide Service confirming receipt of deposit; total cost of
hunt that
would include the
guide rate, guaranteed kill charge, gratuities/commission and
non-hunter rate if applicable will also be listed. The e-mail
confirmation will include date of reserved hunt, where to meet,
time to meet, etc.
The
total cost of the hunting trip and balance due upon arrival (minus
the deposit) will also be listed to ensure that there are no additional
hidden fees or charges whatsoever!
It
is the booking party's responsibility to e-mail me back as soon
as you receive my e-mail confirmation verifying that the information
contained in it is correct.

HUNTING
HOURS
We offer either
a morning or afternoon of wild boar hunting. Our morning wild
boar hog hunting day begins at day break and consists of whatever
hours it takes until a "guaranteed kill" quota is reached.
Our afternoon wild boar hog hunting day begins at noon and consists
of whatever hours it takes until a "guaranteed kill"
quota is reached.
WILD
HOG SIZE
Sows and young
wild boars usually roam in large herds, while trophy wild boars
usually roam in small bands or as loners. A trophy quality wild
boar will have tusks that will measure from two to four 
inches from beyond the lower lip's line. A
hunter "hunting with dogs"
gets
to kill whatever wild hog, big or small, boar or sow, spotted
or the dogs bay up.
The only exception to this policy are very small hogs ( that are
under the State of Florida 15 inch shoulder height) held at bay
by the dogs will be set free. Most of our hog kills run in the
125 to 175 pound range. 200 to 300 pound sow and trophy wild boar
hogs are killed on a regular basis throughout the year by many
of our wild boar hog hunters. An added money saving policy offered
by Ron's Guide Service is:
"we do not charge"
a hunter an additional fee for a trophy wild boar!

WEAPONS
A wild boar
hog hunter may use a rifle (any caliber),
black powder (any caliber), shotgun (smooth bore or rifled slugs),
and/or a handgun (any
caliber from a 22 to a 455).
Due to the lush undergrowth a shotgun with slugs and a good sidearm
are by far the preferred weapons. A firearm (12 gauge shotgun)
will be furnished free of charge to a wild boar hog hunter who
doesn't own or is unable to bring one with him. Hunters are required
to furnish 12 gauge deer slug shells in either 2 3/4 or 3 inch
shell size (smooth bore or rifled slugs). A five shell box per
each hunter will be enough.
THINGS
TO BRING
Wild boar hog
hunting requires no special type of clothing or color. Flip flops
and shorts, jeans and a tee shirt will work (see photo).
Each hog hunter should bring: extra clothing, bug spray, camera,
water canteen, rain gear, large ice cooler (60 qt. or bigger),
and large plastic bags (thrash type) to pack their meat in. Bag
ice for packing your meat can be purchased locally.
Guides
clean, skin and quarter all kills free of charge.
LICENSE
A hunting license
is not required to hunt wild boar on private land in Florida.
